Har Ki Pairi ghat is the prime tourist attraction of Haridwar. This wonderful riverside bank was constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. It is said that all the sins that a mortal commits are washed out by bathing at this river-bank. In the evening just when the Sun is about to go down below the horizon, priests perform the religious rite on the bank of the river. This is extremely scenic and people join in the devotional song. After the ritual is over, small candles are floated on the river.
 
Bhimgoda Tank
This tank is on the way to Rishikesh and it said that while Pandavas were going to Himalaya through Haridwar, Bhim made this tank with a blow of his knee.
 
It is said that the Ganga had split herself in seven currents at this point so that the Sapt (seven) Rishis worshiping there would not be disturbed. This area is full of Age old Ashram & Mandirs with a combination of Vedic & Modern era. Such as Sapt Rishi Ashram, Bharat Mata Mandir, Bhuma Niketan etc.
 
The ancient temple of Daksha Mahadev is situated in the south Kankhal town .The mythological story about this place is that King Daksha Prajapati, father of Sati (Lord Shiva 's first wife ) performed yagya at this place. Daksha Prajapati did not invite Lord Shiva and Sati felt insulted . Therefore she burnt herself in the yagya Kund . This incident provoked the disciples and followers of Mahadev who killed King Daksha, but later on Lord Mahadev brought him back to life. Daksha Mahadev temple is thus a tribute to this legend .
 
It is named after the Goddess, Mansa, who in one of the forms of Shakti Durga. One can easily reach this temple, situated on Vilwa Parvat, by trolly through ropeway or on foot from Haridwar.
 
Chandi Devi Temple
It is set atop Neel Parvat on the banks of Ganga. The shrine was built by Suchat Singh, the king of Kashmir in 1929, but the main statue is said to be established by the Adi Shankracharya in 8th century. According to a legend Goddess Chandi killed demons Chanda – Munda, the army chief of demon kings Shumbh- Nishumbh here. The temple is 3 kms trek from Chandighat.
 
Rajaji National Park (Chilla)
The park endowed with pristine beauty and rich bio-diversity covers an area of 820 sq kms on the edge of the Doon Valley about 10kms from Haridwar. It was established in 1996 and has over 23species of mammals and 315 avifauna species. It is a safe haven for elephant, tiger, panther, bear, chital, sambar, wild boar, barking deer, python, monitor lizard, etc. Elephants are available for wildlife viewing at Chilla and Dholkand.
 
This Ashram has beautiful image of Goddess mahishasur Mardini (15 feet height Asthdhatu Durga) the Goddess of Power.
